TDIC supports the delivery of well-rounded educational institutions in Abu Dhabi and as such a number of educational institutions are currently under development by TDIC on Saadiyat. These projects, including, Redwood Saadiyat Nursery by First Kids Group, Cranleigh Abu Dhabi, and New York University Abu Dhabi by Mubadala Investment Company, will provide all the crucial education stages - from pre-school up to university level. They will also provide the highest standards in education creating an indispensable learning environment for future generations in Abu Dhabi.
The Redwood Saadiyat Nursery will adopt a curriculum based on the specialised world-renowned Montessori Method, providing high standards of educational and recreational facilities for pre-school education. The nursery will provide children with a wide range of learning experiences within stimulating and empowering settings led by highly-qualified practitioners. With a capacity to accommodate up to 140 children, the nursery will boast spacious classrooms and house a music room, areas for arts and crafts, a well-resourced library and media centre, technology room, performing arts facility, and a gymnasium for sports suitable for the children's age groups.
Cranleigh School, a leading UK independent school founded in 1865, opened a campus on Saadiyat in 2014. Cranleigh Abu Dhabi offers a broad academic curriculum that allows pupils to explore a wealth of diverse subject areas including sports, music, fine arts, performing arts and much more. Among other awards, the school was named New British International School of the Year 2017 in the BIS Awards, and shortlisted for International School of the Year in the prestigious Tes Independent School Awards 2018. Its attractive, modern campus is situated at the gateway to Saadiyat's Cultural District, allowing pupils to visit Louvre Abu Dhabi, and, in the future, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and the Zayed National Museum. The school has the capacity to accommodate more than 1,500 pupils, aged from three to 18 years old.
The New York University's campus in Abu Dhabi, developed by Mubadala, opened in the Saadiyat Marina District in2014. It offers the best of university education in sciences, liberal arts and engineering. It will be able to welcome up to 2,600 students on its premises, including students from its New York campus who will also have the opportunity to study abroad in Abu Dhabi for a semester or a winter session course..
