Abu Dhabi, 2/17/2014 12:00:00 PM - With reference to the inaccurate information reported in the 7Days article published on February 16, 2014, TDIC would like to make the following statement:
Robodh is a subcontractor on Louvre Abu Dhabi that has signed the Employment Practices Policy by TDIC and therefore is required to pay its workers on time. Any breach of the EPP document gives TDIC the right to take a series of actions from warnings to financial penalty and all the way to terminating a contract. It has been confirmed that Robodh had delayed salary payments in the past upon which serious actions were taken by TDIC and the main contractor. This had been reported by PricewaterhouseCoopers through its annual monitoring report for 2013 after which the appropriate corrective action was taken immediately. 7Days reported that workers on the projects have not been paid since August last year. TDIC can confirm that all workers from Robodh have been paid up to December 2013. Today, TDIC is investigating into new payment delay allegations and should a breach be found, action will be taken accordingly.
