In July 2009, TDIC launched a US$ 1 billion five-year bond, which represented the inaugural issuance under TDIC’s US$ 3 billion Global Medium Term Note (GMTN) programme.

During 2009 TDIC also issued its inaugural US$1 billion five-year sukuk, which was the largest in the GCC for that year under TDIC’s US$ 1.45 billion Trust Certificate Issuance Programme.
